At Southern Gold Honey, we’ve always believed that honey should do more than taste good — it should do good. From supporting local beekeepers to protecting the pollinators who make it all possible, our mission is grounded in creating greater harmony between people and the natural world.

Trees for Bees
Trees for Bees helps address one of the fundamental needs of healthy pollinator populations: access to diverse and reliable sources of nectar and pollen.
The initiative focuses on planting carefully selected, indigenous bee-forage trees that can provide valuable food sources for pollinators. By considering flowering seasons and forage availability, tree planting can help strengthen the landscapes bees depend on throughout the year.
This is where The Bee Effect’s focus on bees, pollination and awareness becomes particularly meaningful to us. Protecting bees isn’t simply about protecting hives — it’s about creating environments in which pollinators have what they need to thrive.
Together, The Bee Effect and Greenpop bring these elements together through Trees for Bees, connecting the needs of pollinators with meaningful restoration on the ground.
From Honey to Trees
For every 25 kg of Southern Gold honey sold, we plant one tree. Our gift boxes make an even greater contribution: one tree for every 20 extra small boxes, every 10 small boxes, every 5 medium boxes, and every large gift box sold.
So every jar and every gift contributes to something beyond the product itself — supporting local beekeepers while helping create healthier landscapes for bees and other pollinators.
Why It Matters
Bees are an essential part of healthy ecosystems and agricultural systems, but their wellbeing is closely connected to the quality and availability of the landscapes around them.
