Terms & Conditions – Southern Gold Honey

1. Introduction

Southern Gold Honey (Pty) Ltd (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates this website and sells honey and related products through www.southerngoldhoney.co.za. By accessing our website or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please refrain from using our website or services.

2. Products

We specialise in raw, ethically sourced, South African honey and honey-related products. Our range includes, but is not limited to, raw liquid honey and creamed honey. Product availability may change from time to time.

All honey is a natural product. Variations in colour, texture, and crystallisation are normal and do not constitute defects.

3. Orders & Payments

All orders must be paid in full before they are processed or dispatched.

Payments are securely handled via Yoco and may include debit and credit cards, Apple Pay, EFT, and other supported payment methods available at checkout.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel orders at our discretion, including in cases of suspected fraud or pricing errors.

4. Fulfilment & Delivery

We deliver nationwide within South Africa.

Orders are typically dispatched within 1–3 business days, excluding weekends and public holidays. Delivery times may vary depending on location and courier performance.

Orders are dispatched using trusted third-party courier partners. While we take care to package products securely, we are not responsible for delays or disruptions caused by couriers or events beyond our reasonable control.

Local collection may be available by prior arrangement.

5. Returns, Replacements & Quality Issues

Due to the nature of honey as a food product, returns or replacements are accepted only in the case of genuine product quality issues.

These include:

  • Fermentation

  • Contamination

  • Damage sustained during transit

If an order arrives damaged, customers must notify us within 24 hours of receiving the parcel, accompanied by clear photographic proof. Approved damaged orders will be replaced.

Natural crystallisation, pollen particles, or foam caused by bottling are normal characteristics of raw honey and are not considered defects.

We do not accept returns or exchanges for reasons unrelated to product quality.

6. Product Care & Use

Honey may crystallise naturally over time. This is not a fault. Customers may gently decrystallise honey by placing the jar in warm (not boiling) water. Microwaving is discouraged.

Southern Gold Honey is not responsible for product degradation caused by improper storage or handling after delivery.

7. User Accounts & Website Use

Customers may create an account to manage orders and view order history.

All reviews, comments, and submissions must be respectful and accurate. We reserve the right to remove content that is misleading, offensive, or inappropriate.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including branding, logos, images, labels, written content, and design — is the intellectual property of Southern Gold Honey (Pty) Ltd.

No content may be copied, reproduced, distributed, or used without prior written consent.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Southern Gold Honey shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect or consequential losses

  • Courier delays or third-party service failures

  • Damage occurring after confirmed delivery

Our liability, where applicable, is limited to the value of the affected product.

10. Privacy & Data Protection

We collect and process personal information only as necessary to fulfil orders and communicate with customers. Personal data is handled in accordance with South African data protection laws.

Customers may request access, correction, or deletion of their personal data by contacting us.

11. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be subject to South African jurisdiction.
